Being here reminded me of Venice because of the canals and cobble stone streets, but Bruges in itself is a totally different beauty. Its picturesque streets and stunning buildings lined together will make you want to stay forever.
Getting to Bruges was not easy since it’s on the opposite end of where I live. I had to take a ton of trains just to get there, but it was worth the long travel.
I spent half of the day exploring the city and the other half getting lost in it because my friends and I were trying to find tickets for The Color Run in Brussels. Apparently, the store was very far from the city center that we had to ride a bus and walk a few miles. By the time we got back to the center, it was already six o’clock in the evening and we had to catch a train back to La Louvière in the next hour. Of course, we still wanted to go around so we went to two chocolate stores and bought a little something for us to take home. It was nearing seven and we weren’t at the train station yet, so we had to walk really fast along the cobblestone streets which really hurt my feet and when we finally reached the train station we had to run quickly just to catch our train. Thank God we were able to make it! What an exhausting yet fun day!
